Your privacy is fundamental to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Xplic.me ("we", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

Xplic.me was designed with privacy in mind. We collect the minimum information necessary for the app to function:

1.1 Document Content

• Extracted text: When you import a document, the text is extracted and sent to our servers for analysis.
• Anonymization: Before processing, we apply anonymization techniques to remove personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, tax IDs, phone numbers, and email addresses.
• We don't store the original document: The PDF file is never stored on our servers.
• Text processed and deleted: The anonymized text is processed and immediately deleted. We don't keep records of your document content.

1.2 Generated Summaries

• AI-generated summaries are stored locally on your device using SwiftData technology.
• This data is never sent to our servers after initial processing.

1.3 Subscription Data

• If you subscribe to a paid plan, the transaction is processed exclusively by Apple through the In-App Purchases system.
• We don't have access to your payment data (credit card, etc.).
• We only receive confirmation of the active subscription type to unlock features.

1.4 Technical Data

We may collect anonymous data to improve the app:

• App version and operating system
• Aggregated usage statistics (number of analyses, etc.)
• Crash reports

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Process and analyze your documents
• Generate summaries, identify risks, and suggest actions
• Improve AI analysis quality and accuracy
• Provide technical support
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We don't sell your data. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers: We use AI services (Google Gemini) to process text. These services only receive anonymized text.
• Apple: For subscription payment processing.
• Legal authorities: If required by law.

4. Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your data:

• Encrypted communication (HTTPS with TLS 1.3)
• Personal data anonymization before processing
• Immediate text deletion after processing
• Encrypted local storage on device

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View summaries stored locally in the app
• Delete: Delete any summary stored on your device
• Portability: Your data is on your device; you can back up via iCloud
• Cancel: Cancel your subscription at any time via App Store

6. Data Retention

• Document text: Deleted immediately after processing
• Summaries: Stored locally until you delete them
• Technical logs: Retained for a maximum of 30 days

7. Children

Xplic.me is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We don't intentionally collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or email.
